Pick 5 – people and reconnect with them

Pick 5 people and reconnect

connect 5

COVID-19 has shown us how important our human connections are.

I am finding that after a week of continuous zoom calls where I am seeing so many people, I have not made the effort to have 1:1 conversations or connect deeply as before. It may be because I am on zoom overload. This surprised me, because I am so used to working remotely!

Where possible, I now refuse all zoom invitations for Fridays.

What are you noticing? Have you re-discovered old connections & friendships?

Pick 5 reconnect

Play along with me! Pick 5 people and – like those emails doing the circuit right now that are encouraging us to share COVID-19 recipe favourites, or quotes that inspire – and encourage them to reach out to 5 people in their network.

We are all in need of human interactions right now, whether it is by voice or sight .. or even reading an email or letter.

What I noticed about connections during this time:

  • My normal extrovert self is seeking some quiet
  • When I schedule special time to connect on my calendar, it happens
  • I am surprised by the wide circle of contact interacting with my blogs & podcasts – thanks!
  • It is wonderful to be on the receiving end of being ‘seen’ in this time of social distancing. It makes a difference to me, so it is worth doing for others.
  • We are all global now, and someone somewhere is awake no matter the hour! So extend the invitation to connect.

My COVID-19 lessons

I am so grateful for all the family, friends and colleagues who have reached out to check on me. Connections & conversations matter. Video is great. But any contact is best.
Create my spider web. Connect with 5 people this week.
