9 glorious Earth Day links

Earth Day

If there are positive side effects of the COVID-19 crisis, they are the numerous stories of the Earth being able to breathe again. Fitting that COVID Earth Day coincides with the 50th anniversary of Earth Day! This has been a peek into what is possible if we all work together, to protect ourselves and preserve Mother Earth.

Let us try to create a comprehensive list of 9: (and I will get us started)

N95 masks

I first heard about the N95 masks when my child was sent to Delhi to assist in a leadership conference in January 2020.

‘Beware the pollution’ family members advised us from across the globe. Coming from Canada where the air was fresh and oh so cold, we had little appreciation for the level of pollution being experienced in New Delhi. But I was able to find an N95 mask and popped that into his suitcase. And that is why we have one N95 in the house.

When he returned he shared photos of the air quality in Delhi.

Because everyone is sequestered and sheltering at home even in Delhi, I am pleased that #1 on my list is

  1. The air quality in Delhi – you have to click on this link to see the incredible difference!
  2. send me links to add to this list!
  3. number 3
  4. now describe 4
  5. number 5
  6. dolphins swimming freely in the Venice canals
  7. number 7
  8. and onto 9
  9. the last one on the list

Can we come up with the remaining 8 together?

What we learned:

  • Just a few weeks of human inaction can make an amazing impact on air quality in many cities
  • A reduction in the number of commercial flights does impact our air
  • We can all work together to overcome the climate crisis

What lessons would you like to add to this dynamic list?

My COVID-19 lesson

We can combat the Climate crisis if we all work together. It is possible.
