TILT E2: Scott Perry talks TILT and agency

TILT E2: Scott Perry talks TILT and Agency

Welcome to the podcast – TILT the Future in your Favour

Our guest Scott Perry is a guitar teacher with an old-soul philosopher heart.
In his recent book Endeavour he creates a framework for the age-old questions:

  • What does it mean to be human?
  • What does it mean to be happy?
  • Can I be more of both?

Here is an excerpt from the longer hour long interview which is available on my YouTube channel Tilt The Future.

In this segment from the longer interview, we discuss AGENCY.

Agency is that ‘capacity of individuals to act independently and to make their own free choices.’ It is a particularly important concept to discuss when talking about a subject as broad and amorphous as the Future of Work.

Agency is that key deliverable at the end of a session with me – to explore what might be possible, but at the end of the day to figure out ‘So what can I do on Monday?’ – the set of clear concise tasks that we can deliver on in the face of tremendous uncertainty.

  • TILT – discussing the various interpretations of the word TILT – from medieval jousting to the quizzical look of a toddler
  • AGENCY – why it needs to come back into fashion while we enter a new economic era
