18 Jun The day of the two sunsets – What my Dad taught me about perspective.
Follow me. Run!
I will always remember the evening of the two sunsets.
We’d walked up the hill near our home to our favourite spot and nestled on a rock. He made space for all of us on his lap and within his arms. Together, we watched as the sun set slowly and gently into the Arabian Sea.
As the last of the orange orb left and the sky started to turn pink to purple, he stood up and with a glint in his eye said, “Follow me. Run!” And with that we sprinted to a higher peak.
We turned around – and we had caught it! We had caught the Sun! For the first time in my life I watched the sun set twice in the same day. I will never forget the Euphoria. And the sense of achievement. And the sense of play in an adult.
That day I learned that with a little creativity and imagination, I could play with Time, Horizon and Perspective.
A tribute to my Dad on Father’s Day
This is my first Father’s Day without my Dad – and an excerpt from a longer post ‘My Dad taught me my ABCs – Always Be Curious‘ on my website FUTUREcasting.ca.
