09 Apr Covid era shopping
That is not where it is supposed to be!
I last went grocery shopping 6 weeks ago. So much as changed.
In some stores, the dish-washing soap is not in its familiar spot, on its familiar shelf.
In other stores, the familiar store layout itself has been completely re-arranged.
Are you noticing the same in your area as your retail stores accommodate the Covid traffic of one-way aisles and social distancing?
It is surreal
- Wrapping up – scarf, mask, hoodie, gloves. Next level up, hazmat suit!
- Social distancing – the spacing between customers, in line to enter, in the store, at the check-out
- The one-way aisle traffic – a great innovation if you ask me!
- Gratitude – for those still working the produce aisle, distribution and the cash registers
- Covid shopping takes 3 times as long as you debate what to buy before committing by touching it
Rewiring the brain
It forces me to think differently about a task that had become a habit.
What are you noticing about adjusting to this new (temporary?) normal?
