The power of small
Small actions can lead to bigger consequences. That has been an over-riding philosophy behind TILT the Future – how little actions can have profound effects.
There is the analogy of a plane leaving LAX headed for JFK in New York. If the direction of the plane is set a few degrees off course (and never re-adjusted) it will land in Washington DC instead. That is the power of small changes.
If not re-assessed periodically, they lead to incredible changes in our direction. Sometimes we may want to adjust so that we do not lose momentum.
But sometimes, these little changes can also lead us to new and wonderful experiences and amazing new developments.
Writing for 17
“Set a timer”, she said. “And write.”
I accepted this invitation from a fellow podcaster, who has joined a cohort of people who will write for a few minutes each day. And then post. So here is that challenge that I have also accepted!
If you would like to test out this idea, join me (as I am joining others) in a commitment to spend a few minutes with yourself each day. I have chosen 17 (because it makes my acronym Ti17) – and doing Tilt in Ten .. well you see where that would have ended! 17 minutes of writing or blogging or Insta creation. Daily.
What will you discover about yourself?
What will you want to share?
What legacy items were left to you that you want to pass forward – either to your audience of 2 children, or a greater audience of more?
Start small
I chose this as my topic because as I returned from a vacation in Europe spent searching for the sun and warmth (which I finally found on my last weekend!) I was greeted by the teeniest, tiniest daffodil by my front door. So small, it is barely higher than a blade of grass.
But nothing has looked more beautiful. It is a glimmer of hope, a sign of a change in the seasons and a signal that life is about to start jumping out of the earth again.
